Trinity Mission and Vision
The Fruitful Life
God is most glorified in you, when you are most gratified in Christ and become fruitful!
WHAT WE DO?
Our mission statement: "To be and to grow fruitful followers of Jesus Christ."
Human beings are created to be fruitful. Therefore our life is never satisfied until we find fulfillment in fruitfulness.
Jesus said, “
My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.” (John 15:8)
The ultimate purpose of human beings is to glorify God and enjoy God forever, and Jesus said that we glorify God by being fruitful—not just faithful.
Jesus also said, “
I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)
A fruitful life is the outcome of being one with Christ, through him we are transformed into a new creation to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our God. (Mica 6:8)
WHY WE DO IT?Our three core values are:
- Spiritual Family
- Harmony in Diversity
- Community Engagement
Spiritual Family: At Trinity we value a loving family atmosphere and we regard every member of our church as part of our extended family in Christ. “You are no longer strangers and aliens, but ... members of the household of God.” (Eph. 2:19)
Harmony in Diversity: We also value the diversity of people God has brought to our fold. Our principal of harmony is “In essential beliefs, we have unity; in none-essential beliefs, we have liberty; in all beliefs, we have charity.” (St. Augustine)
Community Engagement: We seek opportunities to engage the community and the world. Our clear windows in the sanctuary (we do not have stained glasses) symbolize our value of engagment with the world, touching lives and transforming society.
HOW WE DO IT?Our threefold strategy is:
- Exault - Worship
- Equip - Grow
- Extend - Serve
Our simple strategy makes it easy for new members to understand what to expect and how to get onboard easily and quickly. We expect each member to give three hours to God weekly: one for worship, one for spiritual formation and growth by joining small study groups (see next page for small groups), and one for serving the community inside or outside of the church (see next page for serving opportunities).
WHERE WE WANT TO BE & WHEN?Galatians 5:22-23 provides us nine measuring units: “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” The following is our missional measures in brief.
